I first saw Dutch at the Dal Sub in 1970 and many times after that, the last time in Quebec City in 90's. He was still going strong past 2:00 AM. He has left his mark on the Canadian music scene and will be remembered for a long, long time. His song, "I'm Back" will ring true everytime somebody plays his music. Rest in Peace because you have touched us. Bob

Dutch, I saw you play all those years ago in a smoke-filled bar in Fort McMurray, AB. The atmosphere was perfect - the musical experience stays with me today. Your music truly is a special brew.

Dutch gave me my first experience playing blues. He and Theresa malenfant taught me to apply miles davis's adage: "What you leave out is just as important as what you put in."

Dutch's gift brought so many people a lot of happiness, live and on record. Going to see Dutchie at the Wyse Owl in Dartmouth while at Dal was one of my best memories of Nova Scotia. We won't forget him!!
